Building a Semi-Automated Blog with AI + Human Review

A bootstrapped productivity app wanted to scale their blog but didn’t have a content team — or the budget to build one. They asked: Can we do this with AI, without sounding like robots?
What I did
I built a hybrid system: we used AI (ChatGPT + custom prompts) to draft content based on product docs, customer interviews, and keyword briefs. Then I designed a review process that made human editing fast — structure-first, with tone alignment guides and rejection criteria.
I also created a bank of intro/outro templates and reusable blocks for how-tos, changelogs, and feature highlights.
Results
They went from publishing 2 articles/month to 10 — with just one part-time editor. The blog brought in their first 1,000 organic users, and the whole process runs in Notion + Framer CMS + a few Zapier automations.
